The NHS Adult Services are asking for your help, see below

The number of adults referred for support for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) symptoms has risen steadily over the past two decades.

These rates however have increased dramatically since 2021, with requests for support heightened by increased media attention, particularly on social media, increased public awareness of the condition, and access via online service provision.

In Lancashire and South Cumbria, rates of referral have increased by as much as 800% since the beginning of the pandemic, which has overwhelmed commissioned services and created long waits for assessment.

Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board recognise that that more needs to be done to ensure people can get timely access to support and that their individual needs are met.

With this in mind, we are seeking to redesign our local service model for adults with ADHD and ADHD symptoms, as part of a wider programme to develop an all-age neuro-developmental pathway.

To achieve this, we recognise the importance of doing so in collaboration with those who will access these services, in terms of adults who have lived experience of ADHD and ADHD symptoms.

We therefore invite you to attend one of our online engagement events in August, to answer a range of questions established through our work to date.

Places are limited to ensure those in attendance can offer their views in comfort, so please book on soon to avoid disappointment.

Please use the links below to secure your place on one of these events.

The next online ADHD Parenting course starts on 30.9.2024
6 sessions, twice a week
9.30am or 6pm
see below for eligibility.

Designed to meet the needs of parents of children who are diagnosed or in assessment for ADHD, this online programme is extremely successful. It allows us to reach a larger group of parents who live within our commissioned areas Lancashire and South Cumbria.

If you live within the commissioned areas, we would like to invite you to attend the course, meet members of our team and learn and understand how to manage your child’s ADHD.

The course has a step-by-step approach which we build on each session.

If you are a parent and wish to attend, please complete the registration form by clicking on the image above and emailing it to reception@adhdnorthwest.org.uk
